A group of witches curse unsuspecting trouble makers to leap through time

This choice: You both leapt back through time. You discuss having kids with Kyle  •  Go Back...
Chapter #5

You talk about a better plan for the future

“There that feeling is again…”

“Ugh… you too? Where do you think we are now?”

“I think you mean ‘when’. It looks like we’re back in my in-laws bed again. Based on the lack of any pain, I’m guessing we’ve gone back in time again”

“Great, so we’re just going to bounce around time every few hours then?”

“I don’t know. Last time we lasted almost a whole day before we had ‘this’ happen. It might be caused by something we do or think,” you said to your friend as you sat up. Two perky breasts that you still hadn’t come to be accustomed to hanging from your chest. They were firm and seemed to defy gravity, unlike your prior experience on your last time leap. If your breasts were going to end up sagging like that you knew you would need to take better care of yourself to avoid or prevent that downside of aging.

“At least my back doesn’t hurt anymore,” Kyle said sounding rather relieved.

“Yeah, it feels like we have a second chance at this.”

“What I don’t understand is how we couldn’t find Georgia? Didn’t you say that she was a ‘honeymoon surprise’?”

“That’s what I was told, but I mean, it’s possible they were wrong. Richard and Charlotte have always been pretty affectionate towards each other. Maybe they got pregnant after they came back without realizing it?”

“So, if I’m following you, we are going to have to end up doing it so that Georgia is born. Maybe we can skip that detail by just agreeing that we will do it? It kind of worked in reverse last time. I was committed to not touching you before and then we jumped forward in time and Georgia wasn’t born.”

“Yeah, we seemed like misers. Like we were stuck in a loveless marriage. I admit, I was thinking the same thing. I didn’t want to be physical with you obviously”

“What do you mean obviously?”

“I’m a dude, unless you forgot. Of course I am not looking forward to having sex with you. I’m straight. Also, it weirds me out to think about having sex as a woman”

“Alright, fine fine. That’s all good reasoning. We can’t really leave it at that though. If I’m understanding what we were cursed to do, we have to find a way to form a deeper bond and understanding between us.”

“Where did you come up with that?”

“From what those witches said and from how things have gone for us so far. We turned into those ugly versions of the Irvings. It was almost like a physical representation of how successful we had been. If we don’t find a way to make this work out between us we are going to end up stuck as ugly versions of our new selves”

“I guess that makes sense. I just wish I had ended up the man”

“Yeah, I dodged a bullet there,” Kyle said laughing. You punched him in the arm. It wasn’t much of a punch, you realized that your new form wasn’t particularly formidable in the realm of athletics. “So what exactly are you proposing that we do here then?”

“I guess we try and form a deeper bond? Like maybe we go out for a meal and get to know each other better? I really don’t know.”

“We already know each other though. Am I supposed to pretend to be Charlotte and tell you about her life? You don’t know Richard, so how would you know anything about him. You couldn’t even guess what his favorite color is!”

“It’s purple.”

“How on earth did you know that?”

“I don’t know. It just came to me somehow.”

“Let’s try again. Where were you born?”

“Greensboro. Holy shit.”

“Yeah, I’ll say so. You seem to know a lot about Richard all of a sudden. Now your turn. Ask me something”

“What’s your best friend’s name?”

“Alice”

“Is that right?”

“I actually don’t know, but I think so. Ask me something else”

“How many other boys did you date before you met me?”

“Two. Bobby Janson and Trevor Connors”

“Did you know that before?”

“No I don’t think so. Why would Charlotte have told me that? I pulled those names out instantly though. Like I really knew it for sure”

“What made you want to date me?”

“What are you doing?”

“Just trying to get some more insight”

“Yeah, well that’s weird. You just made me think of the answer and now I can’t get it out of my mind”

“Ooh, what is it then? Something scintillating?”

“Ummm, I don’t want to say.”

“Oh, come on. It’s not like we aren’t married already”

You looked at Kyle with a look of exasperation, before answering. “Well, two answers popped into my mind. The first was because you had a cute smile.”

“Alright, not the best reason, but it seems to fit with how you’ve described your in-laws. What’s the second reason?”

“I don’t want to say”

“Oh, it’s a juicy one then. Couldn’t help but notice this bodacious bod? Huh?”

“Ungh, fine. Yes, it seems like Charlotte noticed that you had a sizable package down south”

“Holy shit! That’s crazy, but absolutely true by the way. When I was getting dressed the other day I was like ‘holy shit, what an anaconda’”

“Thanks for that Kyle.”

“Yeah, anytime,” your friend winked as he leaned even further into his juvenile humor.

You and Kyle proceeded to spend the next three hours asking intimate details about each other’s lives. You learned about each other’s interests, their families, their career aspirations, their hobbies, and lastly their desires. You didn’t love the answers your new instincts provided on some of these. You found out that ‘you’ aspired to be a great mother and to raise a family. This conflicted with what you knew about Georgia’s upbringing. She was an only child, but it seemed like Charlotte had hoped for a large family. ‘Richard’ didn’t seem disagreeable to it either. You wondered what must have happened to result in this variance, but you also had to contend with the fact that ‘you’ personally had never considered yourself the ‘motherly’ type.

Your mind worked rapidly to try to make sense of the conflicting feelings but there was clearly no easy answer. You were just going to have to take things one step at a time. Each step excruciatingly into another person’s life and desires that seemed to take you further and further from your own personal feelings on how your life would end up. Kyle offered no support or solutions for you either. In fact, it was your first joint thought that Kyle, or rather ‘men’, were useless in this manner. The joint sensation of your new found access to Charlotte’s memories and feelings aligning with your own was oddly comforting.

That fact worried you.

You didn’t have time to linger though as Kyle had an idea for what to do with yourselves for the rest of the day. “Why not take a stroll around places we both share in common? Like places the Irvings went on dates or that you know they like. Might help jostle things up and give us the know how to deal with more of the things we’re bound to encounter.”

“That sounds like a reasonable idea. Did you have any place in mind?”

“Nope, you should ask me a question about our past so something will come up”

“Alright…”
