In the movie Honey, I Blew Up the Kid (sometimes Baby), there are four main people dealing with the growth of Toddler Adam Szalinski.

Wayne Szalinski, the scatter-brained scientist whose inventions of both a shrink and a Growth ray are the main cause of issues with the series. While he is a loving father and brilliant man, his inventions don't always work out the way he expects them to. Besides the size-changing rays, Wayne has also tried to build playpens to keep his baby son, Adam, out of trouble, yet the two-year-old toddler can escape each time.

Nick Szalinski, the middle child of the Szalinski, and thanks to the events of the first movie, knows what it feels like to deal with size-changing issues. He is a nerd like his father, but tries also to be cool so he can impress the girls he likes, aka Mandy, whom he has a large crush on. In an effort to be "cool," he has ditched most of his science stuff and got himself a guitar. Adam loves to come into his room and mess with his stuff and "play" the guitar.

Diane Szalinski, the wife of Wayne and mother of Adam and Nick. The most level-headed person of the family, who, while fainting after seeing her baby's new size for the first time, does soon come up with ways to keep him entertained, as Wayne comes up with a solution. At the end of the movie, she volunteers to be turned into a giantess so as to hold Adam still so they can shrink him back down.

Mandy Park, a babysitter hired by Wayne to watch Adam before they knew the toddler had been hit by the Growth Ray, so that Wayne and Nick could have a day out. She literally was in the wrong place at the wrong time, fainting when she first saw the kid she was meant to be watching was now over seven feet tall. She soon joins Nick in trying to get him under control and back to softly leading her and Nick to being put into Adam's pocket.
