“Here we are,” says the receptionist in his deep bass voice, flicking open a file. “Forms signed, payment received - Matthew, all we have to do now is weigh you, measure you and set up your educational plan. Hop onto the scale over there and let's see what you weigh today."

He gestured towards a side wall, and Matt saw a big steel platform with a large digital readout on the wall.

"Just tap the switch on the digital display, then step on," the receptionist said helpfully.

Matt tapped and stepped up. The display blinked, then showed a steady '258'.

"258!" Matt said out loud,
