As soon as Anna got to her art class and sat in her seat, the bell rang. Anna glanced at Jack's seat.
No Jack.
Instead, her friend Ethan was sitting in Jack's place. This was odd. Why wasn't Jack there? And why was Ethan there instead? Anna was friends with Ethan, so it didn't make too much of a difference, but she was still so disapointed that Jack hadn't come to class.
And when Miss McKine called attendence, she didn't call Jack's name. She had called Ethan's.
Oh no. Was Jack sentenced to a different art class? This was too much.
