John 3:16

It is all there in John 3:16. "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son that whoever believes in Him shall not die but have eternal life". That is the Christian's thesis on salvation.

Also, one must not rest upon one's faith alone. In the Parable of the Talents, the master of the house finds that one of his servants only buried his talent in a hole and did not do anything with it so that when the master came back, he could get it with profit or interest. So too must Christians put their faith into practice and love one another as Christ loved them.
