A weird expression morphed onto Emma's face. "Why not? She's my best friend. I know her a lot better than I know you... what are you getting at?"

"She's got a new boyfriend. Dallas."

"Yeah. I know. She just told me," Emma sighed. "What's the problem?"

"Dallas is supposed to be going out with me," she said. "He's cheating on me."
