The door swung open, and your dad stepped into the cabin, wearing, for some reason, one of his good suits that he wore for important meetings. Not wanting your father to see the Wishing Powder, for that would lead to a very awkward conversation, you quickly hid it under your rear, hoping that he had not seen it.
He gave no indication that he had as he gave you a pamphlet that had all of the ship's activities planned out on it. "Going to a fancy dinner tonight with the captain," he said, "Taking your mom, but I was kinda hoping that you'd come too. I would have asked Mike, but he hates all the formal stuff. Besides, he's a little sick at the moment."
"Mike's sick?" you asked.
"Yeah," answered your dad, "but it's nothing serious. Just seasickness. It would wear off soon. So, what do you say? Do you want to come along to dinner with us?"
Formal parties were really not your thing, for they could be rather boring, but, you realized, you could really spice things up with the Wishing Powder!
But on the other hand you you really didn't want to be careless with it. You wanted to start small, to see if it actually works, perhaps mess with your brother when he arrives back at the cabin.
