Chapter #6
Taylor
by: Unknown
Taylor shivered in the cold. She had been wandering for days now looking for a good place to start over. She had definitley... messed up at her old home. One of the many. Trouble seems to follow her everywhere resulting in her needing to run away from everything and anyone she loved. This time she decided to start somewhere remote. She would try and interact with no one. She had hurt too many people already. Taylor smiled triumphantly at the sight of the cave not too far from where she was walking. To get there she would have to scale the side of a steep rocky ridge and carefully walk along the edge of the skinny trail on the edge of the /extremely/ large hill or small mountain. 'Piece of cake.' She thought to herself. She climbed up the ridge with ease, for her many days of rock climbing finally came in handy. When she reached the mouth of the cave she heard voices. Hiding behind a large boulder she listened in.
"I'm very sick." said a weak, female voice. "I've got a fever."
A second voice replied. A males this time. "I'll go see if I can find some help."
Taylor heard the CLUMP CLUMP CLUMP of his approaching footsteps. She stepped out from behind the boulder and the male jumped.
"Who are you?" Taylor asked simply. She wasn't afraid. Her many encounters with the people who were constantly searching to kill her taught her that most frightening things really aren't all that frightening.
"I-I'm Gyan." He stuttered. Taylor wasn't sure if it was the cold or the sight of a mysterious, dark stranger covered in bruises, scars, cuts, and blood in the middle of no where. "Wh-who are you?"
"I am Taylor Shard. Who's the girl?" Taylor replied, her voice echoing throughout the cave.
The girl answered for herself. "I'm Melody. Please help me..." Her voice was weak and faint. Taylor was very experienced in first aid and nursing/ doctoring people. Not only did she go to school for it for about a year, but having to nurse herself and many other close friends back to health. Taylor walked over to her and felt her forehead. It was warm. It's for sure a fever.
"I can help you... do you have any sort of towel, cloth, handkerchief?" Taylor asked them both. The male, Gyan, handed her a small handkerchief. Taylor whipped out her canteen and poured some water onto the center of the handkerchief. She laid it carefully onto her forehead. "Apply new water to this every twenty minutes and keep this on your forehead. You need to find a doctor and he'll perscribe something for you for you." Taylor smiled.
"Thank you.." Melody whispered. Her eyes were closed and her breathing was becoming more regular. After a few moments, Melody was in deep sleep. Suddenly, a rock falls from near the cave mouth. They hear a rustling in the grass. Taylor whips around and strains her ears for any other noise.
