This choice: Does Ben run from the monster Ant or try and fight it? • Go Back...
Chapter #12
Bathtime's Over
by: Unknown
As the monster ant approaches Ben, he sees only one option - to keep running. Ben's heart pounds in his chest as he makes a mad dash away from the ant. The tiny boy is so frightened that he doesn't even know what hit him as his face smacks the concrete. He looks up, confused, and realizes that he's fallen into what must be a crack in the basement floor. Within seconds, the ant is on top of him, violently trying to fit its ugly head down into the small canyon without luck. For the moment, tiny Ben is alive, but the ant doesn't appear to be anywhere near giving up.
Sara has no time to react as she is pulled to the bottom of an ocean of bathwater, along for the ride on her mother's pretty toes. She fears she is about to die. The massive toes land hard on the bottom of the tub, sending Sara outward and upward with a rush of water. The frantic little girl swims with all her might, and finds herself surfacing in no time. Sara coughs and gasps for air as she looks up at her Godlike mother, now standing to her full height in the tub. Dana's body is so impossibly gigantic that both Mike and Sara are left stunned by the shocking sight of her standing figure.
Dana pulls the plug on her bath and steps out of the tub, drying herself off with a towel.
Meanwhile, little Ben's situation is only getting worse. The ant has managed to squeeze its head partway into Ben's hiding place. The floor begins to quake.
"Footsteps" Ben thinks to himself.
He recognizes a chance at survival as his father's footsteps draw nearer.
If only his giant dad would step on the little ant, he would be saved.
