Sally woke up early before everyone else. It was always exciting when she got to take a new invention out into the world. It was as wild as the science fiction novels she loved so much, but her imagination made it real!
She got up and dressed into a white tee shirt and khaki shorts. After spending a few moments fixing up her red hair into it's usual pony tail but with her bright bangs still hanging over her eyes, Sally was ready to go.
Running downstairs she grabbed her backpack and looked down the hall into the kitchen. "I think I'm going to head out for a bit!"
Her mother called to her, "Sally! Get in here! Your friends are having breakfast without you. You can't leave them here alone!"
