Swallowed

The humongous bird opened its terrible beak wide, moving with unnatural precision for something so large.

Ryan glimpsed a reddish maw that seemed to surge forward as the beak snapped close in an instant.

The tiny bug that had been a human such a short while ago. He railed against the unfairness of it all.

Then the bird gulped, sending the bug down into a waiting stomach.
