Phil woke up in the morning and prepared for his routine. It had been 5 years since his first, and only, day of high school, and he could barely remember what it was like. He vaguely recalled that day when he planned to attend classes, only to be thrown into his teacher's mouth like a prisoner. It wasn't so bad at first. She would occasionally let him out so she could torture him, but after two years and too many escape attempts, Ms. Prittey had essentially thrown away the key to Phil's prison.
Each evening, Ms. Prittey overpowered Phil with her tongue and forced the tiny student underneath it. He remained trapped their the whole night, unable to lift it off of himself, forced to have his teacher's saliva drip down on him. During the day, he would be released from underneath the tongue, but only to be bounced around by it within her mouth. When it came time for her to eat, he had to hold on to her teeth for dear life, to avoid getting swallowed. He lived off of the food stuck in her teeth, ensuring that nothing went to waste.
He was unable to pay attention to her lectures, as the movement of her tongue to teach caused him to dance around her mouth against his will. He had learned nothing in the past 5 years, and his only sense of time was when Ms. Prittey ate, when she taught, and when her tongue covered him like a blanket, indicating it was time to sleep.
This day started out no differently. Phil had no idea how much time had passed, only that it had seemed like forever. He braced himself as her tongue lifted off of him, snuck underneath his body, and flipped him up. He hit the roof of her mouth and landed on her tongue, ready for the day's routine.
To Phil's surprise, the tongue started to leave Ms. Prittey's mouth. Phil soon found himself on the outside world, and the light was blinding to him. He knew what was Ms. Prittey looked like after seeing her face when she looked in the mirror, but it was still a shock to see her in person.
"Good morning Phil," Ms. Prittey said. Phil looked up at her. It had been so long since she had spoken to him, he didn't know what to say. "Do you know what today is," she asked him. Phil looked around at the world, and after a few moments had the courage to say "I don't know." Ms. Prittey laughed and said "I didn't imagine that you would. Sweety, today is our 5 year anniversary." Phil thought about what she had said. It had been five years since she had taken him prisoner. The number just didn't seem to mean anything.
"I thought," Ms. Prittey said, "that we should do something special for this occasion." Phil looked up at her, confused. Ms. Prittey informed Phil of her plans............
