Chapter #6The attic... by: sith First of all, you must know that my father is an inventor. Yes, you heard that right, and he´s a genius. Imagine someone like...Wayne Szalinski from "Honey I shrunk the kids" (nice flick by the way, and Rick Moranis does a cool job), without the nerdy and clumsy attitude. In fact, my father really was able to develop a shrinking ray, like in some sci-fi movies. Of course I didn´t know about that before, but unfortunately, I was about to find out, and Hitomi indirectly.
Twas one day after school, and Hitomi and I went home to me. We didn´t have much time, since she had to go the dojo for her training, so we just wanted to eat something before leaving. You must know, I myself am not practicing martial arts like Hitomi, I´m just sometimes accompanying her, because I like spending time together with her. My mother prepared something sweet, a cake for both of us: Sachertorte, Hitomi´s favourite meal. I still thank my mum for that, as if she knew I really like Hitomi and thus prepared her favourite food. I finished the cake before Hitomi could dinish hers, so I decided to go upstairs into the attic, just for fun. I still don´t know why I went to the attic that day, but afterwards, I think it was the right decision. Besides, dad often worked in the attic on his devices, so I was a little curious, and since he wasn´t there and Hitomi not yet ready, I went up the stairs to the mysterious looking attic. I opened the door, and...was kinda disappointed. There wasn´t really much to see, in fact nothing, only a strange looking thing hidden under a wite blanket.
"Huh? What´s this?", I thought, so I took a closer look. I removed the blanket, and before me, there was a futuristic looking...superlaser? It really looked like some metallic laser-weapon from some sci-fi flick.
"That´s what dad was working on? Lame..."
I saw a bagpack on a table next to this strange machine, and I simply grabbed it.
"Hm...quite heavy. Hm? What´s that inscription? "All you need for the trip of your life". Now what does that mean?"
Out of fun, I put the bag on, and while doing so, I noticed a control panel attached to the machine.
"Hm...I shouldn´t do this, but...why not?"
So I pressed some buttons on the control panel, just out of fun.
"Well...nothing happened at all."
That was when the machine suddenly was activated and started making strange noises, as if it was charging. Before I knew, I was hit by a greenish ray! indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
