"Damn it! What´s going on?!"
The world around me began to change...or at least I thought so, because I realized later that it was me who changed. Everything around seemed to be getting bigger and bigger, until it finally stopped after about 10 seconds. And as the change stopped, everything was different. That was no longer the boring attic...no, this was now a vast wasteland, and this device I activated was towering over me like a mountain, and I mean a really high mountain. I was trembling in fear, angry at me because I activated the machine for no apparent reason. Suddenly, I heard some bleeps coming out of the bagpack I was wearing, so I put it off and opened it. There were all kind of things, and I had no idea what their purpose was (but I gladfully found out about that later), and I realized the bleeps came from some sort of watch. So I put it around my wrist, watching on the display, but there was nothing, obviously that thing was not activated yet. I pressed a small button, on the right, and there appeared a message on the screen, accompanied by a robotic voice.
"Shrinkage successful. Current size: 1 millimeter."
Your face was turning pale. 1 millimeter? Shrinkage? So that machine...was a shrink ray? And it shrunk me down to 1 millimeter? That´s even smaller than 1/16 of an inch? With that size, I was merely a speck for an ordinary human! I had to get help, but how? How would I be able to get in contact with a normal person, bein just an insignificant speck?
As if my situation wasn´t already grim, things were getting even worse, as the ground began to shake heavily, just like during an earthquake. And I was able to see the reason for the quake: Hitomi was entering the room, and every step she took with her gigantic boots caused me to fall down on the ground, due to the powerful impact.
"Huh? Marcus, where are you?"
Surprisingly, her voice didn´t seem to be that much louder, still her soft and kind voice.
"Hitomi, I´m down here! Hitomi!"
Of course, she didn´t hear me, and she couldn´t see me as well, and I was getting sad because of this. She could have been able to help me, but that was more than unlikely at that moment. Staring at her in all her beauty, I realized that she was not just huge. No, she was monstrously huge, in any case it´s hard to put in words. I also realized that she was holding a glass filled with water in her right hand. If I had known back then that the true adventure was just about to start...
