Drop In Fun

Long contests and activities are great fun and you get an opportunity to network and make friends. But what about the members who don't have the time or energy to commit to long-term activities? Some of the fun things I love to do on our site are ones I can drop into when I have time. Think about creating something fun!

When creating these types of activities, I suggest letting the prompt stand for a week or two, but not too long. When someone is enjoying the fun, they'll bookmark and look back for the next round. Whether the item is seasonal or evergreen, think about promoting it in the "Activities @ Writing.Com [E] promotion forums and with BidClick ads.

If you're looking for something fun to do, there are silly games like Madlibs, In & Outs, and Crossword puzzles. Challenge yourself to create one and entertain those who enjoy playing the games. There are also daily contests that don't require a large amount of writing and keep your muse tickled.

Enjoy!

Last month's "Contests & Activities Newsletter (August 28, 2024) question: How do you manage your time doing entries for birthday week?

THANKFUL SONALI in Octo-BOO : Pick and stick! *Wink*

Pick what I want to enter, and stick to my choices!

Anarchist Angel 🏴 : @THANKFUL SONALI in Octo-BOO - indeed... It's super difficult to decide, with so many delightful and rewarding activities available! I prepared my September WdC "to-do list" several days ago and spent the morning filling in the details of what I was already planning on doing.

Ned : I have to start before dawn, while the world sleeps.

jackson : Just plug along . . .

Beholden : Managing time? Now there's a novel idea. Don't suppose I'll ever do it, however.
