Planning Ahead
There really is no time like the present to begin tackling something daunting, but if you want to take a few days to catch your breath before starting anew, that time is also now.
The new year is coming at us with seven mile boots. In less than two weeks, we will be firmly standing in another chapter of living in the 21st century. Janus will look at us from the other side, eagerly awaiting to see us succeed in all of our plans.
Whether you want to write something new or go knee deep into editing and reimagining the things you wrote this year or before, don't miss out on that beginning of the year excitement to make headway in your creative endeavors.
If you don't yet know what kind of stories you want to tell, journaling, or blogging is a great place to get started. There are plenty of blogging activities that offer a host of prompts and comradery to those who would like to feel supported in their journey. Check out some of the blogging activities featured below to help you get started.
Another great way to get into a habit of daily or frequent writing is to check out the daily contests listed below. They are short and to the point. One even allows poetry. There are many ways to get ready for success, but warming up with the very thing we're trying to accomplish is still one of the best ways to get started.
So don't delay. Jump headfirst into new writing habits. You might even win cool prizes. You will definitely get your creativity going.

Replies to my last Noticing Newbies newsletter "Bricked Up"
TeeGateM wrote: Good advice! I sometimes think it is just the nature of the beast. I have started mailing chapters to my husband and he keeps them in two places. Paranoid? Perhaps! I like you lost something precious that I will never be able to recover. It is so disappointing when it happens.
Good luck. I do hope all your back up plan works for you.
Kind wishes,
Tee
