People Powered
Any person who finds this site and becomes a member has the potential to make thousands of new friends. Real humans - even if separated by distance - with thoughts, feelings, and opinions.
So, why does this newsletter begin with a quote about artificial intelligence (AI)? Because AI can be problematic and stand in the way of human connection.
Artificial intelligence, whether good, bad, ugly, or neutral is nobody's friend. It can be a tool. Like a chair. Or a table.
It cannot be a real friend to a human person.
The best way to meet people and make new friends on this site is to chat with them about writing, reading, life, everything and nothing. There are some forums set up for that purpose from the site owners. There are many more forums set up by members that ask questions and give answers. There are forums that exist for the sole purpose of chatting about just about anything that comes to mind.
Browsing on the Newsfeed is a great way to see what others are up to in writing, reading, and in life. Getting involved in some of those conversations is a great way to create a first connection with another member here.
The site makes it easy to keep finding those who posted interesting things easily. Next to their handle, there is a little black, yellow, blue, or purple square. Next to that is a heart. Click on that heart! Just like that, you are now connected to that member as a follower (or as a fan if you click the heart twice.)
