Hello everyone, I’m Samberine Everose and I'm here, one of the regular editors in the Romance/Love Topic of the WDC Newsletter, and just like I've been saying, I will not be tired in expressing my thankfulness to all the beautiful people here in this wonderful community of writers for not only helping us to improve our writings but giving us also encouragement and inspiration every day.

I just had the chance to watch a romance story through those free romance movies on FB, where I think they used AI to act based on the story.
It really shows well, and I believe it all comes from what has been written. However, when I compare the experience of writing to that of watching, I find writing to be more challenging. This is because words need to flow together smoothly to effectively convey what the author intends.
I think about how authors model or mold their characters to reflect the perfect description of the main character for the story.
Here are some ways to consider modeling or molding our character through their physical features aligning their inner personality.
 1. Description through Physical feature. - When describing our characters' physical features, instead of using a single adjective like "good-looking" or "pretty," we should articulate their specific characteristics, particularly their facial features, and connect these details to concepts that enable the reader to visualize them more vividly.
Example:
The last was lanky, less bulky, with untidy, bronze-colored hair. He was more boyish than the others... He was also chalky white, pale despite the light flush from the snow; his features were straight and perfect — the nose, the lips, the jaw, the cheekbones." Stephenie Meyer’s introduction of Edward Cullen in Twilight (2005)
2. Description with the use of the character's Background - The main character can be intricately shaped and brought to life by delving into their background. This background encompasses not only their educational achievements but also the lifestyle they lead and the family dynamics that have influenced them. Each facet—whether it's their academic pursuits, daily habits, or familial relationships—contributes richly to their identity, adding depth and complexity to their character.
Example:
He was tall, broad-shouldered, and moved with a grace that seemed out of place in a rugged soldier... his hair was a riot of thick, dark red-gold curls. But it was his back that told his true story. When he stripped off his shirt, I gasped. His back was a mass of crisscrossed white scars, a map of violence that spoke of a brutal history at the hands of the English redcoats." From Diana Gabaldon’s Outlander (1991).
The description of the male protagonist, Jamie Fraser The words mass of crisscrossed white scars, a map of violence can reflect the character's hard past, resilience, and suffering.
3. Emotional stability - A person's physical features often reflect their emotional stability, showing deeper aspects of their character and traits. Every line and contour of their appearance seems to tell a story, conveying not just how they look, but also who they truly are.
Example:
Miss Dashwood had a delicate complexion, regular features, and a remarkably pretty figure. Marianne was still handsomer. Her form, though not so correct as her sister's, in having more height, was more striking; and her face was so beautiful, that it could not be evaded." — Sense and Sensibility, Chapter 10 By Jane austen. With the above example the author reflects emotional stability within the two characters.
4. Mindset stability. A person’s physical features can reflect their mental stability and thoughts, especially when described in the first person.
Example:
He was at the brightest period of masculine life, for his intellect and his emotions were clearly disguised an alter-ego nature... He was a man whose emotions were occasionally visible through his features... but he was generally characterized by a quiet, reliable look." Thomas Hardy’s romance Far from the Madding Crowd (1874)
As we shape the main character in our romance story, we reflect our innermost thoughts and heartfelt dreams. Just as God created us in His own image and likeness, He molds us into the extraordinary individuals He envisions, inspiring us to embrace our true selves, and that's how others will see us.
