Halfway!
Okay, we're more than halfway! What does that mean to our community? Well, if you made some resolutions for the New Year, are you achieving those goals? No? Let's focus.
What is preventing you from getting to the goal post? This can be a slow time of the year.
Got time? Give yourself fifteen minutes a day. You don't think it is a lot, but it is. You'll be astounded to find out how much you write and start thinking about what to write in those fifteen. Maybe pay some attention to a neglected blog. Add some goals for the next six months. Commit to them in "Weekly Goals"
Procrastination? C'mon, make a list. Work on the list and feel the pleasure of crossing off things one by one.
Fear? You can do it! If you don't believe me, ask our community, they know how it feels and we believe in you!
Even if you believe your list isn't something you can achieve, reassess and make a new one! Maybe a health issue gave you a setback. Sometimes life likes to throw curveballs. Hopefully, you learned from those setbacks and are coming back stronger than ever.
We all deserve to have a win on our card, just work a little harder and believe in yourself.
And don't forget to post in "Weekly Goals" , it's a good tool and a great way to get to know your community!

Last month's "Contests & Activities Newsletter (June 10, 2026)" question: How do you respond to assumptions that the narrator is you in your stories?
Responses:
Dawn Embers: I do get the comment often even though I rarely ever write about myself. In fact, I don't like writing me so it's a safer bet to assume it's someone else. Yet, it doesn't matter what I write, someone thinks I'm being autobiographical. I've been an abused woman, suicidal, grandmother doting love to kids and a very awkward man in a public restroom situation. I've also been intersex and a variety of orientations plus genders.
At times, I will just say thank you. Other times I will mention that it's a fiction story but still appreciate the comments because that means the character feels real to them. Always a plus if you get that realistic element as long as you don't dance into "Mary Sue" land.
