Letter from the editor
Can we give love if we are empty of it?

I came across a beautiful quote on Facebook that inspired me for my newsletter this week.

The quote is by Amit Ray: "Every day, you need to take some actions—actions to improve your life and actions to improve someone else's life."

This made me think that something that we should also desire is to take action so we can uplift others just as we are improving ourselves. It just explain that it’s hard to give when you're empty—in other words, what can you offer if you have nothing within?

To give, we must first possess something to share, and I agree with that sentiment. It beautifully illustrates the question: what can you give if you don’t have anything to offer?

Many may say that it is more blessed to give than to receive. However, what happens when we don’t have anything to give? We first need to have the means to give, right?

This is similar to the way we express love.

We cannot truly give love to others if we are lacking it in ourselves.
We need to be filled with love before we can share it with others.
We can only share love when we have an abundance of it within us.

Here are some ways we can ensure that we have something to give

*TackR* 1.Love Yourself-

I often feel pity for those who live on the streets or have lost their minds due to various circumstances in life, such as hardship, or maybe have given so much of their love that they have nothing left for themselves.
I think about their families, wondering why they have become this way and why their families do not support them.
Often, when I encounter them, they are asking, which makes me think they are lacking something, and also it seems that they may not know how to take care of themselves, which is why they seek something from others.

When we neglect ourselves or fail to love ourselves, we risk forgetting our own needs. This can lead to a point where we overlook even basic self-care, such as taking a bath or eating properly, and the strength to stand and find ways every day for survival.

Though, God teaches us in the Bible to love and care for others, it also reminds us that we do not own our bodies; we have been bought at a great price. We are not worthless; we are valued by God. Therefore, we must honor God with our physical body, soul, and spirit by taking good care of ourselves so that we may not forget our value that God paid it.

*Tackr* 2.Practice the Golden Rule-
There is a verse in the Bible that says, "Love others as you love yourselves." It doesn’t say to love others and forget about yourself; instead, it emphasizes that you should love others in the same way you love yourself.

Just simply, how can you love others if you lack the capacity to feel that love? We cannot truly love others if our hearts are full of bitterness, hatred, and pain. We can only share love with others when we are filled with love ourselves, as we are then able to share that love on to those around us.

*Tackr* 3.Connect to the Source of Love
There is an intense truth that resonates deep within us: when we connect to the Source of Love, we can never truly feel empty. This is because the Source of Love is the one who created us. He knows when we feel drained and on when we become empty, and He sustains us, for He is the Source of Love and will never be depleted.

Though as humans, we often struggle with our imperfections and experience moments of emptiness. But when we tap into the divine reservoir of
Love, we find ourselves constantly replenished, in where each day He brings a new opportunity to fill us with vibrant affection and warmth that will sustain us. His Love not only nurtures our own spirits but also empowers us to share its abundance with those around us and that we may become vessels of compassion and kindness, radiating the essence of Love to others, introducing and expressing His true Love that may also bring goodness to others, so that all of us will be filled. *Heart*

Thank you for the great newsletter! I am happy for you that your project came to a successful conclusion. I think you make good points about online communication vs. face-to-face.
These two thoughts came to me while reading your newsletter:
Using writing as a communication tool (email, text, messaging, etc.) allows me to slow down and consider what I am going to say and how I will say it. I've tried to incorporate that into my face-to-face communications, as well. To help settle the nerves inside and take a little more time to contemplate my replies.
I think that it is only human for us to feel differently when we meet face-to-face. So much more goes into your consideration of someone, even if you try to not let it effect things: how they look, how they sound, how they look at you, how other people look at them, etc. It is an odd and interesting thought to me that online communication does have its distance, but in some ways it can have more depth because many of the superficial things are stripped away.

Hi,

Thanks for reading my newsletter, and thanks for the encouraging words which encourage me to write a newsletter on the romance topic again.

Dear Editor,

I found your letter both honest and meaningful, and I agree with so much of what you shared. Your reflection on words versus actions is especially powerful, because it speaks to something many of us learn over time, often through experience rather than theory.

You are absolutely right—words can be beautiful, comforting, and even inspiring. But without action behind them, they can fall short of their promise. It is in the doing, in the showing up, that love and support become real.

At the same time, your letter made me reflect on something closely connected. Romance and love are often confused. Romance is a feeling, something that lifts us and makes us feel good in the moment. But true love—the kind that lasts—is something deeper. It is a decision we make every day.

I say this from my own life. I have been married for almost 50 years, and what has sustained that love is not just emotion, but shared respect, kindness, and steady support. Real love is not always romantic, and it is not always returned in the ways we expect, but it is constant when it is genuine.

I especially appreciated your honesty in sharing your personal experience—how this season of your life has revealed who truly supports you. That part felt very real and very human. Sometimes it is not the people we expect, who stand beside us, and that realization, though difficult, can also be clarifying.

Your message about faith and strength adds another meaningful layer, reminding us that support can come from deeper sources when people fall short.

Overall, your letter carries an important truth: words have value, but it is our actions that give them meaning. And perhaps, as you suggest, the most powerful expressions of love are the ones quietly lived out, day after day.

Thank you for sharing something so sincere and thoughtful.

Kind wishes,
Tee
