Blood to Blood

A slightly dark, slightly angsty writing.

Fire burns blood to blood
And goes beyond the grave
Like the shadow, there by your side,
Like all the love I gave-
But there's no room for anger here
And there's no place for pride
So the stars shall bear sole witness now
To all the tears we'd cried.
But all the rain that blew in then
Only washed us clean again.
So in the silence, we now stand-
Just a woman, and just a man.
One more stone in the road
One more chance to take
Farther and farther,
round and round
Song and silence,
Up and down.
The waves crash
On a distant shore
So far from home
Forevermore.
