Sad Reminders

Her poor heart crushed;
never more to play.
Sadness rained down on the river of love
the day he went away.

Silly girl bragging what a wonderful catch.
Perfect match, full of blessings from above.
The day he went away
sadness rained down on the river of love.

Pining for something she never really had.
Tears fall on her pillow this day.
Sadness rained down on the river of love
the day he went away.

Smarter, not to love so true.
At least not for life, as a mate to a dove.

sadness rained down on the river of love.

Sad reminders fill her memory box;
no notes of love, or promises to stay.
