Pain

This poem reflects the pain and hurt that I've had in life...

Pain may not be just physical
but mental as well.
It is not only caused
by physical means
but by word of mouth too.

Pain can be bad
and pain can be good,
both may leave scars
on the inside or out.

Both types may be taught
as a lesson upon generation
to generation.

Good pain can teach
good lessons
like don't do this
or don't do that.

But bad pain can teach
bad lessons.
Bad pain may have been taught
by physical or verbal abuse.
The lessons learned were
bad lessons
that may be taught
from one generation to the next
the same way they were learned,
a never-ending cycle.

So with an open-mind
please listen,
for now I will teach
a lesson to be learned:

Before you cause pain
or hurt to someone
stop and think
what lesson will be taught,
and possibly the future hurt
that may be started.
Will it be good?
Or Will it be bad?
