French Vanilla

my favorite poem <3

My eyes are closed,
with my hand tightly in yours.
I can feel the warmth,
penetrating
back and forth.
I'm waiting,
waiting for something I'm not sure of.
Will you tell me now?
If not, I will wait.

His soft fingers touch my face,
and turn it towards him
ever so lightly.
I gaze into his chestnut eyes,
as they sparkle
with each beat of his heart.
The distinguished lines of his lips
open and draw towards my ear.
I close my eyes again,
anticipating his sweet voice.

A brief moment later
only a few words come out.
I take a quick breath in,
for they are powerful words
that last forever
and resemble a flame in a candle
that never burns out.
I slowely breathe back out,
and repeat the words in my mind-
I love you.
