Spirit of the Sand- second in the elementary series |
|
Spirit of sand Lodged in the Earth Encrusted in life And gaining by birth Contented alone Without death or fear The heart of the world By hers she keeps near Feelings of freedom Warm on her back Heated from dust Into that which you lack Sun on your lips And wind by your side Into the blue Of the withering tide Truth is a word Beauty a vision But blind, deaf and dumb Are one intermission In her hand She clasps death Void of pity and strife She surrenders your breath Henceforth to the night. |
