Overweight Dreams My name is Pat—I’m so damn fat, I cannot see my toes, I only stop and window shop… I dream of Romeos. My globs stick out, they’re all about, No matter where I turn, I eat and eat, it’s bittersweet, I rest, and then return. My brain wants food, so I protrude, My belly’s large and round. I get new folds, but no one scolds, Who cares that I’m a hound? I try new fads, but misery adds To the emptiness inside. Such discipline to shrink my skin Is lacking—I backslide. I stuff my face while I misplace My thoughts of losing weight. I’m such a hog…I’m in a bog… My fat does mutilate A chance to live, perchance to give Myself to handsome hunks— My dreams now die with apple pie, Gobbled down in chunks… |
