The bonds are stretched but not broken. (A Rondeau poem) |
| The three musketeers: Bobby, Tim and me with bonds like glue for all the world to see. Without a word being spoken, I knew they had my back through stormy skies or blue, while Mom watched “The Guiding Light" on TV. Ingredients of the glue recipe: Soap Box Derby, Little League, Jamboree, and all those bowls of hot mulligan stew for the three musketeers. Winking shadows of that past now buoy me. Too soon, we parted company, you see. After high school, we had to bid adieu. We enlisted, and off to war we flew. Oh, how I wish just once more we could be the three musketeers! Anyone up for some mulligan stew? A description of the Rondeau form and more examples can be found here: |
