Stupid

Did I say something stupid?
I almost felt as sunshine.
I walked on water.
I flew on air.
Why can’t we dance divine?

I took a leap of faith with ease.
I walked fine lines I could not see.
I used to breathe the hope eternal.
I lied.
I could not leave.

The end was not as I imagined
It was dark and low and vile.
I drank my potion and now I know.
I loved alone,
A child.
