Crisis

This poem talks about the unbearable hardships experienced by a people.

Serious Choice:


As we work and settle
in the land we love,
Brotherhood and peace we cherish
like a special gift from above.

From generation to generation
we protect the legacy of our homeland;
Through crisis,
in peace and unity we stand.

Our society is now in shambles
while hardship is at the peak;
With change of policies
that are getting us further in the deep.

It's a crisis,
yes we know and do understand
Because the economy declines
as a result of the devastating inflation.

The economy
makes a downward turn
But this is life
and from our mistakes we will learn.

Striving for a better
way of life we seek
And by hard work,
reward and success we may reap.

We stand in unity
with the affirmation of the good we sow;
To hold and cherish the legacy
of our history so the world will know.
