Hello 2011,
you're almost here,
Goodbye 2010
Your end is near.

What will it bring,
This approaching year?
Happy times
Or trouble and fear?

As I look again
At what has passed
I realise
It went so fast.

Days of pleasure,
Days of pain,
Days I’d like
to live again.

There were times when I was horrid,
Times when I was kind,
Times when I was thoughtful,
Times when I was blind.

Moments of success,
Moments of regret,
Moments that
I'd rather forget,

Yes, there were times
when I let myself down
and yes, there were times
when I wore a frown

But occasionally there were times
when I did OK
and even times
when I made someone's day.

So I look forward to a brand new year.
Another chance to make amends.
With good intentions I boldly step out
Into the unknown as the old year ends.
