A free verse poem done for the prompt "Life Is What You Make Of It." |
![]() A DREAM OF SALVATION! I dreamed I was upon a cross Surrounded by my sins. In desperation cried I out “Will no one help me, please I am nearly drowning in them.” A voice came then and whispered to me “ONE has already done this for you You hang here now because you feel As if somehow you need to. You may come done anytime, you Have the strength to change your life. For life is what you make of it, and you My son, have made little of this precious gift. But choose to and life Can start again, and these Sins will all be swept away Like they had never been.” Said I then, “who is it Could promise so marvelous A thing, and why would One so great, do so Great a thing, for me?” “I AM WHO I AM,” The voice said, “and Pardon is mine alone to give. And it is given freely To all who seek it of me.” With that I woke, and Prayed this simple prayer: “Thank you FATHER, Not only for this gift of life, But for opening my eyes, My heart, and soul - this night!" { |
