A woman is frustrated and tries convincing herself everything will be alright. |
Rain pounds against the window as she sits. The sky has changed to grey, clouds swirling, temperature dropping, and rain pouring. Thunderstorms were forecast, but this is unexpected. All the same, she curls into a ball in the leather couches, listens to jazz music, fireplace blazing, people walking past, as she sips her coffee and ardently types. In her world, everything is hectic. There is never any time. Two jobs that require going into the workplace, another job that involves traveling, and the last job worked into the schedule. It is too much. Yet, pressing on is a must. The demands of life can force us into situations we wish to not be in. When things go wrong, we must stand up and fight to take care of ourselves. No one else will be there to pick us up when we fall- unless you are one of the lucky ones. In this case, luck is obviously not on her side. With economic times difficult and people not spending like they used to trouble pounds on her door saying time is running out. If things don’t change within a few months the outcome looks bleak. How and where will she come up with the money that is required? Tapping her fingers on the chair, her emotions stir almost as bad as the wind howls and the rain pelts against the glass. |
