The Woodpecker and the Farmers

Silent
apples hang on
their trees waiting for the
pickers.

A noise,
a tapping sound,
echoing through the trees
wake up

growers
sleeping in the
orchard and waiting to
harvest

ripe fruit.
A woodpecker
sits on a tree pecking
for worms.
