Those unlucky, unwitting souls
Who are so mean, prideful, and unsure 
Cannot know, or even grasp, love’s truth.

For mean folks never earn the kind regards
Of this glorious feeling from others,

While prideful people consider
Themselves too special and superior
To return these blessed and glowing sentiments.

Meanwhile, the unsure are not adept at making good decisions –
Hence, they cannot achieve depth and structure
In their sad and hopeless lives.   

Love is truly God’s most wondrous gift –
A heart-warming and tender reward
For being open, gracious, and humble, 
And believing that every human being
On the planet
Has a bevy of angels
Watching over them.
