People pass feeling not responsible

 

A human being setting there all alone

Long since lost your family and home

 

Whom can you turn to show any care?

Your body in pain and full of despair

 

Once you were strong and eager to serve

Life dealt some cards you didn’t deserve

 

A dark long wall built to ease your pain

People travel there to ease their shame

 

We spent years arguing and fighting

No answers while you were serving
 

Now you set there as people walk by

Most refusing to look you in the eye
