Against My Own Wishes

Life throws me a curve - how do I deal with these emotions? A poem.

Got a flat tire,
Against my own wishes.
Now calling a tow truck -
How truly auspicious!

Don't like my meal -
It's really expensive,
While having dessert
Could make me more pensive.

A story well written,
But will I get burned?
Another cruel vision -
These enemies spurned.

A date with the in-laws,
By joe, what a drag!
But what can I say,
The cat's in the bag...

I'm just getting by,
These times duly haunt.
Another day wiser, 
The wisdom to flaunt...
