We adore Mother Nature to the nth degree, yet we must deal with it, as well - a poem. |
| We awaken each morning to a richly soothing cup of Joe And the momentous airiness of a uniquely rich And satisfying new day. Enlivened by this new beginning, Humanity continues on with its crudely intrinsic values And its lengthy and hopeful designs, Deftly skirting the edges of this pristine And proximal earth. Vicious tornadoes and catastrophic storms Blanket the landscape once primped and primed By humanity’s willing engrossment In Nature’s magnificent wonders; And blazing infernos rip through neighborhoods And open space causing unparalleled Chaos and destruction. Behold the bountiful earth in its shattered aftermath – Twisters hurtling humanity and debris In every direction And hurricanes annihilating coastal entities; And countless peoples’ homes forever lost To the most torrential and deadly of wildfires. Mother Nature mercilessly renews Its humble, yet precarious bounty, As God’s children play host To that infinite array Of palpable, set-in-stone truths. |
