Faithless

A poem that to me is not about what it seems, but then again...

God knows
And I don’t
God understands
And I cannot
God won’t tell me
And I won’t ask
God is free
And so am I
His choices live
And so will mine
God has his faith
And I have none
I’m told that he cares
While I care least of all
Validity burns within his heart
While within mine it smolders
I’m sure that he understands
While I could never hope to
Reason and understanding
Are not the same side of any coin
Any and all currency holds no value
God is aware of me and my plight
And without question so am I
Faithless is where I’m at
God is somewhere else
A place that for now
I could never allow
Myself to go…
