Their lives trying to mend.

The jury sits through it
Listening to both sides
The judge sums up the evidence
The jury decides.

Can they say for certain
After all this time
That the man in the dock
Is guilty of the crime?

The answer is no
So the defendant walks free
Not Guilty is the verdict
Relief for the celebrity.

There are those who say
That justice wasn’t done
The truth is we will never know
But the course of the law has run.
