I am a worthless angel
In battle I was killed
Once part of a great army
now nameless in a field

I fought for God and country
Through misery and pain
With bravery and honor
Yet no one knows my name

I am a worthless angel
With no name, no legacy
My courage went unnoticed
And my sacrifice was free

I lie now in a marble tomb
Decorated and unknown
I speak for all the soldiers
Who never made it home

No longer a worthless angel
I tell those who've come
To remember what we've given
To remember what we've done

I am the unknown soldier
And there are many more
I represent our sacrifice
And what we did it for.
