My understanding of a family member's trouble finding happiness in life

Skeletons in your closet,
neatly stacked,
hidden by half truths,
tucked away out of sight,
yet still in mind.

destroying relations,
creating inner struggle,
encouraging addictions,
validating fabrications,
tormenting the soul.
