Hard Rain Back Home

Where can you go to avoid the pain
When it is coming down like a hard rain

You can escape back to a better time
But that only helps to confuse your mind

You can find a tall mountain to climb
Not knowing exactly what you might find

You can visit the ocean to breathe the fresh air
Pretending you like being alone and don’t care

You can take a long and cleansing walk
But only find strangers not willing to talk

You can try to sleep and get some rest
But nothing can stop the pain in your chest

You can set all alone on an old bench in a park
And wait for the beautiful sunset and the dark

You can visit that church from so long ago
Then you would wonder where did things go

You can loose yourself in that exhausting pain
Or you can fight for yourself in that hard rain
