The struggles of a co-worker and family with working and life inspired this - a poem. |
| We humans often suffer a devastating And inadvertent collapse At the hands of others - Our spirit roils at the perceived ineptitude And monumental folly of our foes, And we rail at this castration To no immediate or foreseeable end. No matter the outcome or constancy of exchange, We are denied the peace, hope, And undying satisfaction We so richly deserve. We lay claim to a magnanimous, Yet thoroughly beleaguered heart, For which others say We are solely And inherently responsible. Yet, all of this injurious plight Likely stems from a systemic And justifiable view of our own Promising, but limited abilities - That what we deem sufficient for the task May not be all that we conceptualize; And that the Lord's chalice Of kindness and caring Surely contains the sweet love And triumphant mercy To which we must remain beholden For our unique and qualifying aims. |
