A prose poem about the mercenary greed inherent to human nature. |
| Unbelievably poised at the ready, And with a seemingly unfaltering, ageless wit, The proud and ambitious mercenary Stands precipitously on guard For his or her monetary and worldly gains. So aware of the considerable Advantages and amenities Of the noblest influences and most notable stature, These human constructs of hope, watchfulness And untiring dedication do mirror Nature's heartiest, most instinctive specimens... For every creature possesses This discretion: The universal need For great comfort and immense gratification, Achieved aggressively and impurely, Through shady and unethical means. |
