A Father to Us

A prose poem dedicated to all the fathers out there - Happy Father's Day!

Much jovial laughter,
Cheerfulness, storytelling,
And congenial toasting
From the head of our table,
That diligent and trustworthy family man
Known as our dad.
So undeniably brilliant for a purpose,
And so exceedingly proper for a cause -
But his tireless patience
And superior acumen
Come with his apropos, adjudicating, territorial command;
And his helpful leadership is guided by fairness, openness,
And timely results.
A stout hearted man of obligatory notions and trusting designs;
Whose loving and peaceful life
Will forever be treasured
For its wondrous appeal,
Unwavering spirit, and undying support
Of family, friends, and relations...
