A Halloween themed poem |
| Halloween Jacked The pumpkin stares out grimly A tea light burns inside Flickering unseemly The tricks that grimace hides The treats that it delivers As it lights all hallows eve The spills, the chills, the shivers For those that still believe For those who carve the lanterns, Who crave a sculpted face A hollowed haunted phantom To light a hallowed space Between the routine and the random ‘tween light cast and shadow’s shade A life spent brief in tandem A madman’s masquerade A charade in which we’re shunted Tricks and treats a playful sin Where candy coats are fronted Behind a pumpkins grin |
