Disappointments often fuel
Less opportune methods -
Not to mention,
Ideologies...

Prescriptions for better living
Do not deliver the hopes
We once envisioned,
And we are shaken to the core
Of our strong beliefs and values.

All at once, we lay gasping,
Longing for that era
Of innocence and compassion
Which marked a happier,
Less frustrating time
In our daily lives.

But the truth merely overshadows
The successes and gains we seek.

The importance of daring
To overcome critical odds
Has to come to fruition -

And we will once again be rewarded
For our unbelievable pursuit
Of triumph and glory.
