A majestic sunflower
stands proud,
stands tall,
reaching toward the sky,
in soft prayer,
and watchful eye ...
A flower deserving its day in the sun,
before it bends
from its fruitful weight
in a final prayer --
releasing seeds,
for birds, which to feast,
and perhaps there may be
one stray seed
to plant itself
and grow ...
another season to know
such sweet majesty
under the sun.
