Looking forward to the holidays - a poem.

Despite the patterns of enraged dysfunction
And unrest existing
In the world these days,
The people of the Earth
Can look forward to some gregarious time off
And enlightened fun this holiday season.

Because no matter your mission or status
Or list of accomplishments
This busy 2016,
The year is coming to a close
With rosy, crisp, and morning-like optimism,
Having made a grand
And unforgettable stamp
On our newly-chastened lives;
And with our beloved family and friends,
We hope to share a bit
Of warmth and sunshine
And bring this positive season
To its eventful close...

Giving heartfelt meaning
To a world of peace and love,

While respecting His grace
Through prayer...
