In a way, I dreamed of you

A dream where a lost love is remembered, but not seen and is said to be facing a crisis.

Late one night,

I sort of had

a dream about you.



I dreamed I met

a mutual friend

who said "remember me?"

and dropped your name.



She said you'd gone

so far away

and fell on tough times.



Gravely ill,

your marriage troubled,

your daughter weeping.



A bit of fear

jolted me awake,

in the middle of the night.



I held you closer

though you weren't there

my arm around thin air,

the following day in church.



Now, I stare

at your name

staring back at me

from the online reunion board.



A question haunts my mind.

Do I look?

How are you?

I hope you're well.
